What is Wi-Fi Technology?

So, what is Wi-Fi, and what does Wi-Fi stand for?

The full form of Wi-Fi is Wireless Fidelity. It is a form of wireless technology which is used to connect computers, smartphones, and other digital devices to the internet facility.

Wi-Fi is a wireless local area technology that sends radio signals through a wireless router to nearby devices. This further converts the signal into usable data. It enables these devices to exchange information with one another, creating a proper network.

To be simple, a Wi-Fi network is a form of internet connectivity that is shared with multiple devices with the help of a wireless router. The router is connected directly to an internet modem and works as a space to broadcast the internet signal to all the Wi-Fi-enabled devices.

This provides the flexibility to stay connected to the internet as long as one is within the Wi-Fi network coverage area. Wi-Fi has now become quite a recurrent phrase in our daily routine lives.

This wireless networking technology is now a feature of various electronic gadgets such as smartwatches, mobile phones, computers, televisions, and even smart speakers.
