Adiabatic Process

In an adiabatic process, no heat is exchanged between the surroundings and the system.

PVγ = K or constant

Since, W = ∫PdV

Using the value of P,

W = KVf∫VidVVγ

W = KVf1−γ−Vi1−γ1−γ1−γ−1−γ1−γ

According to the first law of thermodynamics,

Q = ΔU + W

Since, Q= 0, ΔU = -W
